Since the release of the 3G iPhone, and the iPhone 2.0 software update, there has been many new and amazing apps. One of them is called Beatmaker. Basically, its a program where you can whip up some cool tunes, but its not like the usual simple stuff.

As allways, its an application for apple that has a simple interface and is easy to use, but is very advanced. You can adjust the tempo, create and record loops, choose instruments, import packs, make mixes, and much much more. I found this simple video on vimeo to show you how to use it. Enjoy!

At 12:11 am GMT i was surfing facebook. Just browsing through friends albums, and on some of my favorite apps on there such as Vimeo, Owned and Be A Tycoon. Then, i went to the homepage and everything had changed! I knew that facebook would be adding in more features, but i diddnt know that it would be a whole redesign of the site!

The New Facebook Design...

The new design i think is much more cleaner, and has many new things to it. On your profile, they have added application tabs, which i think is awesome! They have also increased the facebook width, which is good, but when you are on applications, they are cramped in the left hand of the page, but im sure the application developers will change this soon.

They have also kept the usual colours, and at the top, they have got a bar saying "Welcome to the new Facebook", and you have the option to swap back to the old design, or send them feedback on the new design. Here is a screenshot of my Facebook Profile (Click To Enlarge). I love the new design, and give it 9/10, but i have to say, it does remind me of the Digg.com design, only thinner and with the facebook colours.

The Old Facebook Design...

The old design i would give a rating of 5/10. I diddnt really like the old design. It was too cluttered, and im glad that they have made it wider. Also, on your profile, when moving items around, you only had the option of a very small column, or a wide column. Now you can put it it tabs, and it so much better. Here is a screenshot of my Facebook Profile with the old design (Click To Enlarge).

As i am changing the colours of Kedoa, and experimenting with different colour themes, i am going to share with you some rich colour inspiration. The 5 sites listed below contain rich colour (eg: Brown, Gold, Red etc), and they have used it in a way that makes their site look very nice. Check them out below. You might get some design inspiration for your own site.

1) New Concept

New concept is both a portfolio and a weblog of Szabolcs Bakos. The site features a mixture of browns and reds, and also a really sweet javascript navigation menu. This site provides resources, and also design / coding services.

2) Bird Malaysia

Well, the title basically sums this site up really. Bird Malaysia features a nice array of rich colours, along with a nice palette of fresh colours such as greens and blues. You can get some really nice hex colour codes from this site.

3) Fantesca

Fantesca is an estate and winery. I looked around thsir site, and they have an amazing array of images of their estate and winery. Its really beautiful. Their site is layed out very nicely, and the colours work well along side each other. This is true design inspiration.

4) Sessions

Sessions is a website by collective idea. They offer training sessions for ruby on rails, and also the very popular cms, expression engine. Their site uses different shades of brown in swirles for the background, and white, blue and pink for the text colours. Although these colours are very different from one another, i think that they work very well with each other.

5) Authentic Style

William Smith is the owner of this awesome website. He is a creative professional from Salisbury in the UK. On the homepage of his site, the menu is carried down the page, and it looks very nice. The whole site is on the homepage which is what i like. His designs are very nice, and so is his website.

A design company Viktor and Rolf were contacted by Piper-Heidsieck to create and design a new sort of design for their Limited Edition Piper Heidsieck Rosé Sauvage champagne. But this design was upside down. The idea was to create an upside down design brand for the champagne. I think its worked out well so far. Even their website design is upside down!

About Coolness is a really nice blog that i have exchanged reviews with. Sort of a you blog me, i blog you back sort of thing. Anyway, i have looked at his blog before, and i have to say i like it. Its the sort of collage humor that many people would be into.

What do they blog about?

They bog about many ramblings and cool things, where as other things they blog about are completly pointless, hence having the FAIL category on their website.

Some of my favorite posts on the site include the escalator spin video, the stumbleupon warning, and also the funny toilet which i had to post here...

New Jokes Site

They have also launched a brand new jokes site, in addition to their main blog. Here people can submit jokes and share them with other people. Users can rate jokes, and they can reach the jokes chart. Here is one of my favorite...

A man working at a lumberyard is pushing a tree through a saw when he accidentally shears off all then of his fingers. He rushes to the emergency room of a nearby hospital where the awaiting doctor takes a look and says, "Yuck! Well, give me the fingers and I'll see what I can do." "I haven't got the fingers." The doctor says, "What do you mean, you haven't got the fingers? This is the age of medical advances. We've got microsurgery and all sorts of incredible techniques! Why didn't you bring me the fingers?" "Well, heck, doctor. I tried, but I couldn't pick 'em up!"

By now, everyone must of heard about the new 3G iPhone that Apple released just over 24 hours ago. Both me, jim, will and adam all followed the live audio feed of the wwdc 2008, and also we were looking at text and photos over at macrumorslive.com.

I have to say it was extremely slow at receiving the photos. On the audio feed it said about something and then the photos appeared like 10 minutes later. The audio feed was very fizzy at first, but then it got much better. It was funny how when everyone clapped it dimmed down.

Anyway here is a very funny comic strip i found of what Steve Jobs did iver the weekend before releasing the new 3G iPhone on Monday 9th June 2008.
